Brownie Scout Programs
Celebrating Community
Meets requirements for Girl Scout Brownie Celebrating Community Badge
New Jersey is a unique state with a diverse population whose immigrants have brought a variety of ceremonies, songs, and symbols that scouts can enjoy in celebration of our great state. Come to Macculloch Hall Historical Museum to see 19th-century musical instruments and hear how music has captured the mood of the state and nation in times of sadness and joy. Scouts “scout out” symbols and learn about American symbol maker and late- 19th-century American artist and political cartoonist, Thomas Nast (1840-1902). While at the Museum, discover how Macculloch Hall went from a family home to a historic landmark, prepare for a parade, and learn how to properly fold the American flag. A 10-minute snack break is built into the program; please bring a nut-free snack for each girl. Length of Program: 2 hours. Scout Fee: $10; Adult Fee: $5. Minimum: 12 girls & adults.
