Meets requirements for the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge
What makes a good citizen? Scouts discuss this, review the functions of the federal government, and examine early American documents in the home of former U.S. Senator Jacob Miller (1800-1862). Activities include a focus on the life and work of political cartoonist Thomas Nast (1840-1902), whose home is on the National Register of Historic Places. Pre-registration required. $15 per scout; $5 per adult.
Use 19th century Macculloch Hall and Morristown’s first Historic District to meet all five requirements of the Boy Scout’s Architecture Merit Badge. Activities help boys compare building styles and trends today with those of the past as they look at Morristown’s historic neighborhood. Boys also learn about three career options in the field of architecture. Pre-registration required. $10 per scout; $5 per adult.
