Volunteers are key to MHHM's success. Join us on a regular or project-by-project basis to welcome our community and help us keep history alive.

Garden Volunteers help maintain MHHM’s historical and educational garden beds. Duties can include (dependent on the time of year):
- Planting
- Weeding
- Watering
- General light maintenance
- Pruning and harvesting
Volunteers should be prepared to be outside and get dirty. Gardening equipment will be provided, and volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves.
Garden Volunteers meet once a month on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

Front Desk Ambassadors help welcome guests, handle admissions and gift shop sales during the Museum’s open public hours. They are the first and last person most museum guests interact with and must provide a high level of customer service.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome all guests
- Provide guests with a general introduction to MHHM
- Respond to or direct inquires related to museum admission, exhibits, membership, and daily programs
- Handle admission and gift shop sales (cash and credit card transactions)
Qualifications:
- Friendly and welcoming
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable interacting with museum guests of all ages
- Dependable and punctual
- Cash handling experience preferred
Front Desk Ambassador volunteer shifts are available on Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
For this volunteer position, training will be provided. Front Desk Ambassadors are required to volunteer at a minimum of 3-4 days a month.
Education Volunteers support education endeavors at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum. This volunteer position is a “behind the scenes” role helping to prepare materials for upcoming education programs. Duties can include but are not limited to:
- Assembling Art Kits
- Preparing scavenger hunts
- Pre-cutting supplies for art projects
Education Volunteers meet once a month on Saturday from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
First Date:
- Saturday, April 27, 2024
Help us keep the Museum running. Duties include data entry, filing, and correspondence.
Students service hours may be earned in the gardens at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum. From April through October, students can help weed and assist with general light maintenance and clean up. Please be prepared to get dirty.
